AFL confirms 2020 season shut down for at LEAST two months amid ‘unimaginable’ crisis:

The AFL season will be shut down with league chief Gillon McLachlan confirming an indefinite hiatus due to the coronavirus crisis.

The league will pause until May 31, 2020, but it’s understood this is a target for a return rather than a confirmed date.

If NSW police lockdown is to last for 90 days can't see how an major sport (afl, nrl, the other rugby, soccer, basketball, car racing etc etc) can start before July and even then u need to get some team work into the participants before they hit the dance floor.

Hmmm,

What people are missing is that once they relax conditions the same old exponential growth will restart.....

Maybe they will think about economic costs versus health costs by then. Isolating the vulnerable totally and letting the remainder cop it is the only way to shorten this.

Whatever happens I can bet on one thing - at the end of all this there will be plenty of work for insolvency practitioners, lawyers and business and real estate valuers who didn't give dodgy valuations.  Unfortunately i am none of the above but wish I were (I am not dodgy).

Cheers

Timw,

Tax system will be how it is repaid of ever. Wealth taxes and or death duties a common solution around the world probably unless the German solution is adopted.....

Well I wouldn't bother NZ.  East Timor should be an easy target and it has gas reserves.
