I can't believe that result.

One judge had it 117-111 - that's criminal.

All credit to Jeff Horn I thought he was fantastic, but he didn't win that fight.

At least Jeff will get his multi million payday.

I'm pleased Jeff won he was warned by the ref at one point if he didn't match it in the next round he would stop the fight it was a real slug fest and Horn is a deserved winner and a worthy World Champion. :no1:

ROUND BY ROUND

Round 1 - A great start from Horn, swarms over Pacquiao from the start and lands all the best punches, with the champ hardly throwing anything of substance.

Round 2 - Slight edge to Pacquiao, who lands a good left to the body and Horn is cut over his right eye from a head clash.

Round 3 - Horn makes a great start but Pacquiao storms back in the latter stages with some good shots.

Round 4 - Horn pushes Pacquiao to the canvas early and lands a big right hand and the better shots through the round.

Round 5 - A terrific round with both men landing solid shots, Horn more early on and Pacquiao late.

Round 6 - Pacquiao cut by accidental head butt one minute in. Horn dominates with non-stop pressure and a greater volume of punches with the champion landing little.

Round 7 - Accidental butt opens up more blood on Pacquiao, Horn opens up after the delay and banks another round with some more solid right hand shots.

Round 8 - Pacquiao shows more urgency, clips Horn with some good shots and backs him up to take the round.

Round 9 - Pacquiao dominates, hurting Horn and tagging him with several big blows, and the challenger barely makes it through the round.

Round 10 - Horn get his legs back and avoids trouble, with Pacquiao doing enough to take the round.

Round 11 - Pacquiao lands a big left hand but Horn hangs in there and lands some good shots of his own.

Round 12 - A scintillating end to a great fight, both land good shots with Horn backing up the champion in the closing seconds to shade the round.

from the CM

i scored it 4.5 to 1.5 in the first 6 rounds
he did enough in the last 6 to hold on
maybe people are looking at r9 only
 best fight for years
i think people are used to the result going to the incumbent
Manny underestimated his opponent and payed the cost

Hopefully I get to see a replay some time.

Much criticism abroad re the result with one American guy tweeting that the Australian judges were terribly biased.

There were two American judges and one Argentine.   :chin:

A once great sport has been so corrupted that any result is questionable -- and racing is headed the same way.

Oh I think boxing has always been fairly corrupt.

Wherever you have a sport with lots of cash, you'll find the usual shady characters.

Wise old jungle saying: "Don't bet on anything that can talk"

AND . .

Subjectively judged events can be subject to error . . or corruption

Not saying that this was the case here  :no1:

The WBO should never have entertained such a review, no matter who requested it . .

Tell them all all to 'fly a kite'

What ever happened to: "The judges' decision is final; and no correspondance will be entered into!"

Wasn't two of the judges American?

i enjoyed today's fight.

MacGregor is as tough as they come and Mayweather is amazing for a 40year old.

Hope to never hear from either of them again. One past it champ who's a grub and another  gutter crawler who can't box. Best he sticks to kicking and hitting people when they're down

Horn Pacquiao rematch cancelled.

From abc.net.au

There will be no Battle of Brisbane mark II, after Manny Pacquiao pulled out of his planned rematch with Australian world title holder Jeff Horn.

The Queensland Government made the announcement today, two months ahead of the scheduled November 12 sequel.

Horn caused one of the greatest upsets in boxing history when he defeated Pacquiao on a points decision at Lang Park on July 2.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the Government would still support Horn's WBO world welterweight title defence but against a new challenger, yet to be named.

"We have been advised today that Manny Pacquiao ... cannot return to the ring on 12 November as proposed," Ms Palaszczuk said.

"I am advised Mr Pacquiao, who is also a Senator of the Philippines, will have other commitments at that time.

"Whoever the challenger is, my Government will help arrange the meeting because it will be good news for Queensland."

She said her Government would continue to work with Horn's management regarding the Brisbane boxer's first title defence.
