I am calling it now and unless there is the greatest choke in sporting history, we will win the 2019-2020 EPL title.

We are 13 points ahead with a game in hand at almost half way point. The next two games are crucial.

We were very unlucky to not win the competition last year. Out last EPL title was in 1989-1990. The drought will break  at last.

When we last won the title, we had vinyl records, colour tv was fashionable, Eastern Bloc was starting to break up, Regan was in power in the US while Hawke was the PM, raiders won the NRL GF, Collingwood won the AFL comp, 49ers won the Super Bowl, Cincinnati Reds won the World Series, Germany won the World Cup soccer and Kingston Rule won the Melbourne Cup for Bart.

It was a simple and glorious era which we will return to again.

Ok, English league title. This will be the first EPL title as we now know it.

Not anymore hopefully. It has been a long 30 years and yes I am going off early. But whatever happens, proud of the lads.

World Club Champions, Champions League etc do not mean much for us anymore till we get a title.

However next two games are the crucial games. We win those and we are looking good before the Champion Leagues and FA cup hit us.

Leicester was the big worry for us as they are not in the Champions League so they are fresher while City are in the same quandary as us. Thus Leicester losing to City and us was a big, big boost.

I'd never go the early crow halfway through the season.

But that's just old superstitious JWH. :embarrassed:

I never do but I have to as last few times we led, we never said anything as we expected to crumble. Gerrardís slip up a few years ago and then last year, we had a total that would have won 95% of the titles.

So this year, we believe and it has worked wonders. It is not arrogance but belief now.

We are proud of our team but next two games is vital.

You should be proud of Leicester. I donít think anyone except for their biggest fans would have thought of top 4 halfway through the season.

The biggest threats for a top 4 spot is if the other misfiring teams such as Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal get their act together.

My English mate had United at $4 with an English to make top 4 about 6 weeks backs when they were really struggling. He is very happy at the moment as they have a very kind draw.

Another win and another step closer. Not convincing against the Wolves but we will take it.

18 games left and we are 13 points ahead but the chasers are also a game ahead.

Two crucial games coming up against the Spurs (A) and United at home. If we can hold on against these two, another step closer.

None of that please.

There are 17 games left for us. We are 14 points ahead with a game in hand.

If City win rest of their  games, they will go to 95 points. We are on 61 points currently and have 17 games left. 35 points is what we need as goal difference could be bad if we start losing.

Crucial games against Man U at home on the weekend and then Wolves away almost a week later.

Every game for rest of the season is a mini heart attack for us fans with the pressure.

An interesting stat from the weekend games from my UK mate. 5 points in total from a possible 18 for the top 6 teams (heading into the weekend) is the lowest ever.

But the great news is Liverpool are now 16 points ahead with a game in hand. Cityís maximum points is 93 while we are now on 64. 30 more points is what we need from our last 16 games.

Címon lads.

It is nerve racking as you think they could start a big losing streak.

Even if City win all their games, we need 27 from 15 games to seal a title.

Next 5 weeks are challenging with FA Cup, Champions League and Premiership games galore.

I will settle just for the Premiership but thatís just me.

  Mate, they've lost 1 of their last 62 EPL matches and in that one they went within a couple of cm's of the whole ball going over the goal line and getting a draw.

Go lay them on Betfair for $50 at $1.03 - at least that way you've got a title or enough to drown your sorrows in style.

Thanks mate.

Liverpool has the longest drought out of all the teams I support. If they get u, knights will be the last frontier.

After a major hiccup in the FA cup tie v Shrewsbury, we managed to beat the Hammers today.

This meant we have now played the same number of games as everyone, 24. We are on 70 points and City are on 51. With 14 games left, City can achieve a maximum score of 93. So we now need a minimum of 24 points from 14 games to seal a title although every dropped point by City will reduce our target.

February will make or break us in every competition. Onwards I hope.

Geez Jeunes you are really putting the worst case scenario to the test.

It would be the biggest fail in sporting history if Liverpool do not win the 2019-20 flag.

Liverpool are currently $1.02 to win the EPL with Ladbrokes. Don't think the TAB are even offering a market - cannot see one.

Be interesting to see if they start resting players in the EPL if the title is in the bag and they are still in Europe.

In some ways it would be good if lost a game now so there's no pressure to keep playing everyone to chase an 'invincibles'.

Well with City losing to the Spurs overnight, our task became a bit easier.

We need 91 points minimum to seal the title if City win every game. So with 13 games left, we need 18 points.

We have at least 1 FA Cup game (replay) 1 CL game v Atletico, and 3 league games left in February. If we go ok this month in the league, I am not sure what the plans will be.

It is tough for any team to be playing at this level all the time so there could be players rested. The title is what we want, the rest can wait for another year. We donít want to be greedy.
