It's a shame that Sports Betting has turned sports enthusiasts into money-grubbers.

Remember when the underdog could expect support from 90% of the non-aligned spots enthusiast?

These days the US Dream Team could expect support of 90% of the sports bettors against Papua New Guinea because they've been taken at $1.01 in multi bets.

Shouldn't arakaan's post be removed?

I find it "potentially offensive". :shy:

Shows what you know about Sport Betting.
They wouldn't offer 1.01 for The Dream Team, there would be no betting.

Question:
Do PNG have a basketball team?

You disappoint me OL, I would have thought you'd be on PNG at +103.5 in a shot.

What's the lowest effective price you can end up with in that US style of betting +205 or -180 etc?

Can one of you sports money-grubbers explain that stuff to me?

I think -200 is $1.50, 200 being what you risk to win $100 and +200 is $3.00, 200 being what you win if you put $100 on.

Anyone know if that is right?

So you could have -20,000 which is 200-1ON I think.

Correct.

$1.01 = -10,000

The AFL heirachy should tell the St Kilda football club at half time if they don't perform in the 2nd half instead of throwing the game, they will be kicked out of the comp

Can someone explain to me why the side leading the comp would want to throw this game?

I only watched the last quarter of that game of aerial ping pong cause you could see history going up in smoke. I am sure the Saints would have liked to have won the comp undefeated.

Of course they wanted to win.

It's sports betting that leads to such comments.

So, we either have to get rid of the sports on which sports bets are made or get rid of betting on sports.

I know how I vote.
