I think the issue was taking the safety would have virtually guaranteed them the ability to run clock out but if he hadn't made the first down it opened the door to a touch down and possible drive to win the game.

With the GOAT Brady feeding Sony Michel, James White and Julian Edleman I cannot see the Rams winning. Added to that is The Gronk i his new effective role of offensive blocker.

If the Rams are to be any chance Jared Goff is going to have to work some magic with Todd Gurley II - CJ Anderson has been great but they will need that little bit extra.

Gurley hardly touched the ball in the Championship game and not convinced he is over the knee injury he got late in the season.

In fact of the Pats get ahead early it might be a blow out like these GF games can get if the result is obvious well before FT.

$4.50 Pats 13+ looks attractive  :chin:

Ladbrokes promo will let you have $20 on the Pats at $2.50 - they are $1.74 so a no brainer if you have a Ladbrokes account.

People might not happy with game today but Super Bowl was great with the defence winning out.

Brady has won 6 Super Bowls and 3 other appearances too. He is also 41 years of age in what is one of the most physical games.

Like Jordon, Gretzky, Bradman, Phelps etc must be the GOAT of his sport.

Not for a QB these days. Uber protected species.

They literally can barely be touched and it's been like that for a few years now but got even worse this year with the new interpretations.

You'll see a lot more QB's play to very late 30's and early 40's going forward if they are top class.

Here is a roughing the passer penalty Brady got 2 weeks ago.

The NFL changed the rules and calls a few years after all the concussion issues. You may be right with the new QBs coming through but some of the older QBs did play under old rules so longevity is still big. Helmet to helmet bans also helped big time too.

I put a link below supporting both theories as some are innocuous hits. It does not show hits after passing too.

The rules are much stricter as you rightly point out but the example given by arakaan was simply a terrible call by the officials.
