Sorry gin, but why did they deserve good news. The rorted the salary cap with no concern to others and then lied their backsides off trying to cover it up. A few months later were the NRL really expected to let Hayne stroll straight back into Parra on his big bucks.

The stench about that still lingers imho.
Shubert was brought in to investigate and said it was nowhere near the figure the NRL said as it was all about contentious third party payments, yet they had made their mind up and ploughed on, even one of the tapes had the disgruntled whistle blower Seaward saying "I'll ask Todd how the Dogs do it"
Why wasn't more made of this?
I have no doubt the rules broken somewhere but nothing like what was made out.
The laughable thing was the Titans had to get 3rd party payments to secure Hayne ...... the whole thing that brought the Eels down wasn't because they got 3rd party, it was how it was done
