Why?

Gifted one J Hayne for start.

Remember this club was bankrupt not 6 months back yet have cash to splash denying Hayne a return to Parramatta.

The NRL is doing everything in it's power to make them look good to a potential buyer ..... trouble is put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig.  emthdown

You should be thankful that Parra dodged that bullet Gin rather than having a whinge. Best thing the NRL has ever done for parra.

Yes & no Ara.

The NRL could have allowed the Eels some good news last year (god they needed it) but instead gifted Hayne up to tart up it's own disaster on the GC. It just stunk.

No doubting he's a complex character and has been well down on what we expect but who knows what he'd have been like if back in the blue and gold.

The interesting part is the Eels fans, they have turned to a man, you're hard pressed to find a good word about him anywhere

Sorry gin, but why did they deserve good news. The rorted the salary cap with no concern to others and then lied their backsides off trying to cover it up. A few months later were the NRL really expected to let Hayne stroll straight back into Parra on his big bucks.
I not only would it have looked bad but it would have been bad

Parra brought that whole disaster of a couple of years right down on top of themselves. No one else to blame

The trouble is with some clubs is that the members don't bother going to General meeting and vote on issues concerning their clubs.
Not hard for the idiots to take over in that case.
Re teams on the GC.
I'm only 40 minutes from the GC and get down there often. When you talk to people down there they couldn't care less if there were teams there or not
A lot of the residents are like me and in their twilight years so our main interests are dining, gardening and a punt on the ponies
So much money has been wasted on trying teams there
In my opinion the best years of the rugby league were before the Broncos destroyed the Brisbane comp.
I reckon the Sydney comp was so much better then as well

Is chucking a Mitch Moses. I'm only concerned for his mental health.

Cody won't be going anywhere but speaking of mental health, apparently Greg Inglis has been admitted to hospital with some "issues"
Hope the champ is okay :x:

Indeed just seen that break in the news. His long term injury wouldn't be helping the state of mind either I guess.

The stench about that still lingers imho.

Shubert was brought in to investigate and said it was nowhere near the figure the NRL said as it was all about contentious third party payments, yet they had made their mind up and ploughed on, even one of the tapes had the disgruntled whistle blower Seaward saying "I'll ask Todd how the Dogs do it"

Why wasn't more made of this?

I have no doubt the rules broken somewhere but nothing like what was made out.

The laughable thing was the Titans had to get 3rd party payments to secure Hayne ...... the whole thing that brought the Eels down wasn't because they got 3rd party, it was how it was done
