It was a wonderful display by Novak.

It was also a touching winning speech.

And the organisers should be carpeted for having the concert start up before Novak had completed his victory parade. emthdown.

While the 7 tennis was unbelievably bad, particularly because of the pest in a wheelchair, 9's was even worse.

That snub to Stosur was beyond belief.

Considering it's not like Australians win home slams most years.

Wly
Remind me re Nadal and cheating.

Plenty of examples mate but it's probably best to look at some photos of him in the past to get a good idea as to what he was up to.

He is also a chronic abuser of the rules. 2 years ago (?) at the Aussie Open don't you remember the notorious stalling and injury breaks when he was losing. Deliberatley disrupting his opponents. Then back a few more years against Wawrinka, he was disgraceful in his time stalling tactics. He's been doing it for over a decade but his behaviour in that finals match was utterly disgusting

Courier & McEnroe have been quite outspoken about his cheating over the years

Couldn’t find anything on last nights result.

Well done to the Aussie in the French open.

Good on Barty winning yesterday.

I hope she can chalk a few more in her career. Unlike the men, most grand slam female winners only win now and then in the last 10 years except for the really good ones.

Did not realise she had indigenous blood in her too so the comparison to Goolagong Cawley will also begin.

She also showed up the Aussie male tennis stars too so good on her.

Through a great-grandmother on her father's side Barty is descended from the Ngarigo people on the Victorian and NSW border, I presume that makes her indigenous, just as my great-grandmother on my father's side was Irish, I can therefore assume I am Irish, although I have never been to Ireland.
All the same congratulations to Ash.  :no1: :no1:

At least she is better than some of the RL World Cup players. There were players playing for countries of their grandparents without even visiting them.

Best were some players who could not speak the same language as their teammates.

If you take Bubba with you when you go, on average, you'll be the two richest men in the land . .

Why take a cheap shot at the young Lady being proud of her indigenous heritage  ? Is she trying to obtain a fiscal benefit by it. ? Highly doubtful . I am sure she could afford a much larger " castle " than you two Irish  :censored: s could ever afford .

Since Pat Cash won Wimbledon in 1987, only Rafter (2) , Hewitt (2) and Stosur have won grand slam titles.

Barty is sitting on a cusp of being one of Australia’s best ever modern tennis players. She is 24 and as an Aussie, we should be hoping for more success.

Let's hope Barty can go on to win more tennis Grand Slams, however since 2000 four other women have won the French open and have failed to win another Grand Slam, namely
Francesca Schiavone
Jeļena Ostapenko
Ana Ivanovic
Anastasiya Andreyevna Myskina

Hardly household names today.
