I am still boycotting the 2020 competition, but I did sneak a peek at the replay.
Relevant to this thread, my observations of Souths:
i) They will derive benefit from the outing. A lot of the players seemed to be unfit.
ii) Adam Reynolds is the most creative player in the game
iii) Damien Cook is the most creative hooker in the game
iv) They need to sort out their defensive patterns. You cannot have Adam Reynolds left to tackle someone like Boyd Cordner running an angle at full bore.
v) If Mitchell were to concentrate on his fitness, and be allowed to gain experience in the position, an argument could be made to keep him at fullback.
vi) The return of Walker and Roberts can only benefit the team
I think Souths will be in many high scoring games and they will win many of them.
The off-field issues are ego related. Mitchell has a grossly inflated opinion of himself. Wouldn't be surprised if Souths do not exercise their option of signing him to a further contract after this year. The way he is playing at the moment he wouldn't he worth $300k a season let alone the million he seems to think he is worth.
Walker is too old to be involved in street fights. He needs to grow up but you shouldn't have to be saying that to a 30 year old.
The new 5/8 looks highly promising.
