I don't personally know Danny, but he seems like a nice guy.
His horses present quite well and he has been involved with some champions.

Just wondering why j.r.b clearly has an issue with him?

Personal or business?

Thanks for bringing this back to the top. It's high time we checked in on Danny's stats.

Danny cracked it for his first city winner of the season when the high priced Chilwero got home in a Class 3 at Doomben last Wednesday.

That's 1/21 in town for the season thus far.

Richer pickings for him at the provincials and country tracks, racking up 12 winners from 99 starters this term.

Flamenco Girl, formerly trained by Danny, has been transferred mid preparation to Paul Perry. She runs on Saturday at Newcastle. She's still owned by the wife of his main patron, Mr Gillard.

Most of the horses Mr Gillard had with Danny have been transferred to Perry.

Mr Gillard now also has horses with Bjorn Baker, including the high priced Speed Princess.

I only remember this guy having 1 decent horse and then failing to capitalize on it.
Dean Lawson seemed to fit the same bill.

Makes you wonder whether the good horses they had might have been even better somewhere off somewhere else.

Bit of added pressure having a good trainer as a father.

Having a good horse early on in your career also increases expectations too.

Flamenco Girl ran last today at newcastle. Makes me think she is no good. Not much Dan could have done with her after all

Danny's ex patron enjoyed success today in the Maribyrnong Trial, with Sweet Sherry.

Be nice to see him start to get a decent return in his not inconsiderable investment in horseflesh in recent years.

Danny had a winner at Ipswich today.....wearing what looks like shirt number 3 with a Polo Ralph Lauren logo on the left and another Regal looking shield on the right...which I couldn't make out....a bit overdone IMO but maybe he's going all right.....although the big spending patron has departed south.

Giddy Up

Another winner yesterday with Conchita. Signed for as a yearling and trained by Paul Perry.

And cost considerably less than many of his earlier purchases.

Yep, well pointed out jrb, that in general, the more you pay for a horse does not equate to a better racehorse.

Nothing to do with Bougoure though, to my knowledge
