Hard to miss his two big return runs. Had a nice grounding at home and comes to Weir to take on the big guns. Similar story as Black Heart Bart perhaps. « Last Edit: 2017-Feb-13, 02:15 AM by samatt » # Logged PoisonPen7 Group 1 User 55 Posts: 23943 « 2017-Feb-13, 11:49 AM Reply #1 » Humidor $7 2nd favourite behind Jameka.I kinda liked the run of last year's "winner" Awesome Rock first up and the $13 on TAB appeals.Winx and Hartnell are in the market with "doubtful" in brackets but you never know I suppose. # Logged tontonan Group 2 User 106 Posts: 3506 « 2017-Feb-13, 01:09 PM Reply #2 » I am not suggesting that he is WFA class but Tom Melbourne's run in the Carlyon Cup should be disregarded. He never had a run at any stage in the stretch and we wont get a line on how he lines up until after the St George (or whatever they call it these days). Besides the current fixed price of $13 (all in) for Tom is ridiculous. There has been nothing wrong with either of Palentino's runs this prep or Jameka either. The other horse that was far from disgraced was Ecuador - but the stewards weren't impressed with the jock and pinged him $400 for "failing to ride the horse out over the final two strides". Personally I reckon that is poppycock. The jock did not strike him with the whip in the final two strides : Since when has it been compulsory ? # Logged samatt Listed User 887 Posts: 405 « 2017-Feb-14, 09:04 PM Reply #3 » Agree Ecuador is going well Tonto and available at a goods odds if you can confirm he is going that way. Might wait to see if he accepts for the Peter Young lead up.Interesting to see what happens with Hartnell, market will turn on it's head if he comes down. Maybe hold off on that decision before laying anything down. # Logged PoisonPen7 Group 1 User 55 Posts: 23943 « 2017-Feb-15, 12:19 AM Reply #4 » Most all in markets have Winx as favourite and Hartnell either 2nd or 3rd favourite - but they are not compensating the other runners for the risk that they may start.TAB is betting a 271% marketTatts is 250%Ladbrokes a whopping 294%With only $842 matched at this stage, Betfair is 4,446% # Logged BACK TO ALL TOPICS Print Search Pages: 1 Go Up « previous next »
