That's the one!! They were under a lot of pressure, jockeys pulled the whip on all 3, didn't flog them but there was no loafing, they said who the 3 were but not who was who?? so I don't know who worked the best, one come from last and ran over the others, the leader ran last, not sure if they ran time or not, wasn't that interested, nothing there that makes me think they will be competitive at the top level, this year at least!

Many thanks for that info - I did spec Mourayan so I hope you're wrong  :) but I'm not seeing anything too exciting at this point. I'm guessing we might see a few next in the Turnbull or the Bart Cummings 2500m? on same day I think.

I'm on Mourayan too steve - hoping he was a bit cluttered up in the Craiglee and we see some big improvement in the Turnbull.

well it was hard to judge, Ii didn't see anything there that made me think they WOULDN'T be competitive either! the horse that won the Gallop was impressive in comparison to the other 2, but are they going any good??

Just watching Resettable in the last at Bendigo, I will bet he turns up with a Tongue tie next time he goes around!! He was playing with his tongue pre race, it was hanging out in the race you can see it easily, turned me off backing it, maybe that was the reason he blew like a gale and there was a plunge on the second fav??

Here's hoping he can carry us both

I thought he was quite ok first up and as you say just got a bit cluttered up - he looked set to make a run but once traffic cleared he didn't come on.

Gee I wouldn't like to be paying the feed bill for any of his imports, letalone the purchase price, he shoulda stuck with Zabeels

I agree he should have stuck to NZ - I think you'll find most of the big spending trainers/owners will come to that realisation in a couple of years.

I actually though Mourilyan was ok given the run he had - showed he had some speed and stuck on ok. Wouldn't mind seeing how he goes in Herbert Power.

Bloody well incredible.

Why the hell would they have not just gone straight into the Melbourne Cup with him ?

Indeed!

I wonder given his recent couple of efforts if Lloyd is thinking of leading all the way at Flemington.  :chin:

I'll eat my hat Authorized - but I reckon he's doing it wrong he takes Europeans then trains them like Europeans. Geez for some of these good types he's purchased and got no where with I'm surprised people don't highlight that

Who are the ones that have failed ?

He is not like Chris Waller, aiming them at ordinary races.

Start with Alandi & Mourayan.

Don't think Waller ever had horses of G1 ilk and if he did I doubt he was buying/picking them - Lloyds runners are Llloyds picks.

But here's the thing - why aren't all these big spending owners looking at Japan - they are the superior stayer surely.

Alandi was without a doubt an uninspiring choice but Mourayan he's alright isn't he ?
