I'm hoping Elusive Express can win the Oaks.

I like the Jakkalberry breed......real shame we lost Jakkalberry.
They seem to like soft tracks and can stick on really well.
Plenty to like about the female line of Elusive Express as well on the soft track.

Incredible the punt, isn't it?

I thought I was clever getting $34 for Halvorsen yesterday......used my boost on him.

There was $71 available today. :what:
Good little horse on the straight.....bet he liked  that softer surface.

Sportsbet offered me $26 about Tibetan.....so I took it.
Thanks Sportsbet!

I liked him anyway.

The Shocking breed do like the firmish tracks......bit like their dad.

The win of #2 Willowy in the Wakeful was as good as it gets. Came home in what must have been an amazing sectional on the back of a fast pace.

I doubt that pace will be there today in the Oaks so it will test out the credentials of this promising filly by Kermadec - sire of Montefilia (who was very stiff not to place in the Caulfield Cup).

Her dam Dextrous produced 4 stakes winners and multiple city winners - she passed away in 2020.

Pretty sure both sire and dam raced in the Godolphin blue - happy to be corrected.

Gai hasn't got a runner but she trained the sire of #2 and #3 (Sebring), #9 (Vancouver) and #11 (Pierro).

#5 Douceur will race in the Tie The Knot colours and looks a likely on pace runner in a race lacking an obvious speed. Her sire Never Nay Never is the sire of the July Cup winner Ten Sovereigns. She is out of a Zabeel mare and Douceur is the only named produce according to the Stud Book. The grandam is by Danehill. She is bred to win an Oaks as you would expect with the Tait/Nivison team. Each way at $19.

Same colours go around in the previous race (Cafe Tortini) and is a big chance at $34 which I took last night.

Not today Wily.
I've never been able to get myself into a "well funded" account balance, today.....that's racing.
Good thing about the strict deposit limit.....can't lose too much.

Watching Constantinople unable to gain clear running and getting a whip across the face  sort of sums up my day.

He did look very fit today and well done for sticking.
Such a neat little hard trying horse deserves a big payday
The Magnus breed don't mind the soft ground.
Hope that wasn't a bit of blood in his nostril.

Bit rough for the Victorian Stayers today in the Jericho Cup......get to go over 4600 metres on a good 3. :o

No one on course seems to give it a mention....just puppets to their masters!
Interesting Steve Pateman on twitter states the track should be prepared the same as for a jump's race.....soft 5.
I fully agree and well done to Steve for calling it.

How close this fellow today.....phew....I took $81 and $16 on Wed.

First time for a while he's seen clear running....pretty exciting.....just the little weight difference.

Well done to everyone involved.

Tigertiger is an interesting horse.....looks like a classic European but in fact is a NZ homebred.
The son of Zed goes around in The Bagot on Saturday.
I can remember backing him on heavy 11's in NZ a couple of years ago.
Has had 9 starts in Oz for 4 wins, 4 2nds and 1 3rd.
There is a big motor in him for sure and I'm looking forward to see him in this grade on Saturday......hope the track's not too hard.

TAB put him up at $31  :o, now $17....Sportsbet go up much later at $18.
Fairly common practise by Sportsbet.....waiting. :thumbsd:

Well done Nem
Must say the 2nd horse was absolutely slaughtered but a tough win nonetheless.
Trainer Blacker is a good horseman but doesnít get many of quality. Got in a lot of strife a few years back but now making amends with a bit of luck

No doubt the plunge was stable inspired

Interesting quinella result in R4 in Stawell.

Had a couple of peanuts e/w on Savoie in a BM 58 .....he was once  a good horse.
Quinella with Halgard in NSW paid $55......on the Vic tote a much nicer $172.....with twice the pool size.

One time being with Sportsbet pays off

No F4 fours.

Only really was looking for a couple of horses to go into running doubles  with my recent Black booker Southern Native.
Strewth.....he was unlucky just then.

Southern Native really stretches his neck right out and tries very hard.
That great quality of the thoroughbred will win me over every time.

Standish looks a good race to have a crack at today.

I thought #1 The Astrologist, #3 Turaath and #5 Mileva were the quality horses - the latter two well weighted.

Happy to bet around the #10 - a few doubts about the quality of horse it has been racing against.

144 weeks since his last win but gee I reckon Dark Dream will go close today. Just been knocked off by one better recently including Ho Ho Khan who they intend aiming at some of the Cups later in the year.

Can't see how Just Folk is a $41 pop at Moonee Valley today.
He's a good horse and if the track stays around the soft 6 I reckon the big son of Magnus will run really well.

Struggle to see how Redwood Rising was an $81 pop as well.
Plenty of excuses for him lately and just needs a good ride and the track to stay soft to go well.

I hope Guizot can get clear running today from the good draw.....soft 5-6 is the surface for him.

Good punting everyone.

There are a couple (maybe more) interesting maidens in the 1st at Sandown today.
I did take $6.5 about Heavenly Eagle ....a very impressive galloper.
Trialed very well in NZ before ending up here.....a couple of excellent trials here as well.

Over Boost is an ex NSW, ex Hong Kong galloper now with Greg Eurell.
Trialed very fast at Cranbourne beating Sierra Sue.

Heavenly Eagle has been backed in...$5 and Over Boost has drifted out $3.6 -$6.5.... 30 minutes out.
