Prince Rahy in Race 7 today at Sandown is 3rd run back from a spell. He has won 3rd run back at his past two campaigns. The 20-1 each way appeals.

Del Prado - rider Dylan Dunn reported his mount wasnt comfortable in the track conditions and for this reason he eased the gelding down over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. :wtf:

Was the track too firm or is that just a bullshit story.
To me it looked like the inside was off.

Just read the whole report looks like it was very firm.

Why don't they upgrade it to Firm 2 FFS

Race 8 - CHAIRMANS CLUB HANDICAP - 1400 metres:

Staviva - commenced awkwardly and lost ground (two lengths).

Cloudscape (IRE) - commenced awkwardly. Rider Michael Walker reported the gelding would be better suited on a track with more give and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Scherzoso - marginally slow to begin.

Duibio - over-raced in the early stages. Rider Michael Dee reported his mount would be better suited in a race over a shorter distance.

Running Bull - over-raced in the middle stages. Rider Katelyn Mallyon reported her mount would be better suited on a track with more give.

Mr Backchat - raced wide without cover.

Del Prado - rider Dylan Dunn reported his mount wasnt comfortable in the track conditions and for this reason he eased the gelding down over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Chivalry - rider Harry Coffey reported his mount would be better suited on a track with more give.

Staviva - rider Ben Melham was fined $400 for using his whip six times prior to the 100m and in assessing the matter Stewards took into account Ben Melhams overall bad whip record. Ben Melham reported his mount didnt feel comfortable in its action. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than the gelding lost its off hind plate in running.

Interesting interview with Matt Brown, trainer of Godspeil, after that win at Sandown (God bless her).

Noticed Jess Payne was replaced by Jordan Childs - have been following Jess lately with a little bit of success. Brown said the jockey switch was at Jess' suggestion i.e. put a bigger rider on her.

Jess rides the stable's only other runner in the last, Little Bita Spunk, who looks some sort of a chance. After the claim well in at the weights. The #6 Weir horse Thinking Of You in that race is well down in class on recent outings and if it can handle the weight rise of 4.5 kg must be some sort of chance. The French horse, #7 Darlux, first up in Australia will be watched with interest - looks like it will need a bit further.

Thought R8 #4 Keivann was an each way bet to nothing at the Valley today in the 8 horse field.

4th run back. Has a love affair with the Valley. Reasonable barrier.

The last time he carried this little weight he ran 3rd to Voodoo Lad over the course and distance in June.

Couldn't believe it when Malaguerra was taken off the Freedmans but full credit must go to the Gelagotis brothers.

It's like watching a different horse in the mounting yard these days and he looks every inch a top class horse on the track.
Equals track record tonight at Moonee Valley 1:09:29 for the 1200 metres carrying WFA and untouched with the stick.

Always seems  to have enough doubters to ensure a good price.

Trainer reported as saying on racing.com:

"We've been dying to challenge the horse at the seven furlongs," Gelagotis added.

"It's going to take an exciting horse to beat him in the Orr and Futurity.

Given the 1200m track record, the win in the BTC Cup (1200m) and Star Kingdom (1100m) last year, surprised the TJ Smith wasn't mentioned. If Chatauqua doesn't come up this horse is the best sprinter IMO.

$26 for the early TJ Smith markets kinda suggests they won't be starting  :what:

What a gutsy, genuine little sprinter Glenrowan Prince is and he's everything you love about the thoroughbred.

Absolute top of the ground horse and very underrated.

Need my $10 running double with Inside Agent to get up.

When I first developed an interest in racing, I was told a 33% winning record  belonged to a good horse.
Glenrowan Prince has won 8 from 24 now.

I never do ratings but I try to watch races just to spot something that takes my eye
When Glenrowan Prince ran .5 sec outside the Bendigo 1300 metre track record it certainly caught my eye.
Followed him since and not once have been disappointed in him.

What rating figures can never measure is the size of the heart of an animal and Glenrowan Prince must have a big heart.
Goes dead straight and absolutely tries his heart out.

He did beat Malaguerra home in the VRC Sires Produce albeit Malaguerra was a colt then.

While there are a few with chances in the big one tonight I've put Rebel Dane on top.

He loves the track, performs first up, performs at this level and is double figures   emthup

Obvious chances to 10, 11 & 13 while it wouldn't surprise me to see the 3 run and improved race storming home.

Tontonan.

 Are you close to Bendigo?

There seems to be some showers around and I'm keen to back Hans Holbein.
 Don't want a good 3

No, I am miles away.  I am East of Melbourne on the suburban fringe.  Bendigo is 150k north of Melbourne.  While it has been showery in my neck of the woods there wouldn't be a millimetre in the gauge and the BOM says Bendigo has received Zero.  Good4 at Bendigo this morning, track inspection at 3.30pm but nothing yet posted.

No rain expected tomorrow or race day.

Hans looks well placed with his stablemate there to carry him along, whether he can give that much weight to Richard of Yorke would be my issue .

BENDIGO

Irrigation:    5mm last 24 hours, 19mm last 7 days
Rainfall:   2mm last 24 hours and week

Ignore the rating and weather at Pakenham - they get entirely different weather to Bendigo.

Well done nemisis,

Great tip.  Made light of the weight and won just a shade outside the record.  Track upgraded to Good 3 after the race.

Thanks Tonto.

I did back him on  Thursday so it was a good result.
He looked the winner a long way out and was very powerful with that weight.

You would wonder why he wasn't in Sydney because he excellent in the wet.

Great win today by the 9 year old warrior Mujadale in today's Stawell Cup.

Tough racing style but looked the winner a long way out.
12 wins from 56 starts and 560k in earnings.

Did have a jumping trial a month ago.

Finally the Victorian Saturday gallopers  don't have a concrete track awaiting them.

Been waiting for Charlevoix  to get on something other than a good 3.

New trainer, minus the concussion plates as well as the testicles.
Not advantaged by the weights but easily good enough in my book......just needs a bit of pace.
