Disappointing to see Venice Beach beaten on the corner and while the jock said "he needs more racing ", the steward's report suggests it might be a while before we see him again.
Joins a rather long list of ex-Coolmore gallopers with a very short Australian racing career.

Unless he can do a Wells......what happens to a Gr 3 winning 6 yr old staying bred stallion in this country?
This fellow was sold today on the Inglis Online auction for $17,000.
Injured in the Australian Cup in March he currently has a 'not to race' certificate .........purchased by Equine Physiotherapy and Management.
https://www.equinephysiomanagement.com/.

It will be interesting to see if he does make a comeback.

It would be funny if it didn't cost you money.

When asked, just before the 3 yr old 1600 m race, about the prospects of the Tavistock colt Over The Sky today, Mick Price said he has told the jockey not to go between horses on him.
"He'll be coming with a big finish", said Mick, while acknowledging the wide draw, and with 15 or so metres of fresh ground today at Flemington, "surely the jock can find some of it" he said with a wry smile. :what:

Anybody interested can watch the replay.............would have been great seeing him come down the outside uninterrupted.

I am still on my rule of backing only 20-1 or over (although sometimes if you take best tote/SP it can slip into something under that).

Didn't really see anything at those odds that I thought was value.

Think the bookies have got the markets right.

R6 #3 Iconoclasm is getting out to a price I think he is value.

Just noticed R7 #5 Gatting won this race last year second up at 100-1 sorry rat too late to add him to our quaddies). Second up today. Now with Peter Moody - worth a small bet at the 50s or more. Taken Top fluc.

In the last #8 September Run and #15 Jenni's Run getting out to backable odds

Not even sure where to put this one.

Check out Flemington race 7 and the run of Mount Kilcoy.

3 runs in off a long lay off over unsuitable distances with kids up, 4th up & 1600m and senior jock on, blinkers on, backed from over $100 --> $30 and went to the line unable to get a run for the final 250m with jock sitting up.  :/

The Flemington track is a major failure IMO.
Rail out 4 metres today it and looked like the jockeys didn't want to get really wide, so lots of unlucky runners all day......Derby trial was just that for some runners.....just  a trial.

The profile of the track not only causes so many injuries and breakdown in horses but it rarely presents as a fair surface.

Good story today for the Hobson stable with their Yulong outcast, Yulong Storm.
4 wins and a 2nd from 5 starts for the son of Scat Daddy since leaving the Snowdens.
$9,500 purchase from the April Inglis online sale .......very well done to all concerned  emthup

Nem, youíre right. Certainly a few out of the Derby Trial.
From memory itís not a race that stands up for the a Derby but it may be an exception this season

There are bad rides (Rawiller on the favourite in the last at Canterbury) and genuinely unlucky rides (Ollie on the favourite Cordilla in the last at Flemington - absolute tragedy beaten).

The God Of Favourite Punters left the track early.

He's been a beauty. I've been on the last 3, including the defeat so the $13 yesterday on BF was :icecream: Looked the winner a long way out.
