Must be something in the breeding and straight racing.

September Run's mum Pittsburgh Flyer won two stakes races, both down the Flemington straight.

Her dad Exceed And Excel won a Newmarket and sired this year's Newmarket winner Bivouac.

Another son, Exceedance, won this race last year. She was the obvious choice with the benefit of hindsight  :shy:

I've got some severe doubts about the favourite in this at those odds, especially if it is ridden negatively. They don't seem to be running on from the back lately (or if they do it is all over).

Can see #7 Tyche Goddess leading or near the lead and #2 Personal not being far off them either. The first three streeted the rest in that race and the winner is not here.

Breednet has a good article on which of them are bred to stay. They give the favourite a thumbs up

https://www.breednet.com.au/news/12007/oaks-preview-%E2%80%93-which-girls-are-bred-to-stay?

They also give #7, #11 and #13 a tick.

Didn't really predict the suicidal pace in the race.

#7 Tyche Goddess led and after having been beaten 1.5 L by the winner on Saturday has been beaten 48.5 lengths.

The horse that attacked her in the lead, Jamie Kah's mount #11 Vilanculos couldn't finish the race and was pulled up.

Quite a remarkable performance from the favourite, who tracked the pace, to place.

Surprised the stewards didn't say more.

Winner has been most consistent and it was a deserving victory. She is by Fastent Rock out of Personify. The dam of Personify, Tristarc Stks winner Procrastinate, has produced 5 stakes winners including 5 time Sth African G1 winner Laisserfire and G1 placed Time Thief.

Today's Jericho Cup over 4600m on a wet track does mean horse's pedigrees are going to count.
I can't be bothered going into them all but I don't mind Golden Flag's breeding.
Grandson of Galileo out of a dour Sth Island NZ family appeals to me......probably set for this after last year's effort......on the minimum as well.

The mug punter in me means I'll have something on Superleggera......strong one pacer who I hope he's not there as pace for the stablemate.
I ignored racing yesterday but am looking forward to this!

Count Zero, another winner for Zed......what a versatile stallion he is.
I did spot  Zammazan on the dam's side.......but how many goes can you have?
Plenty of stamina in the NZ homebreds.

I thought you would have had something on the Zed horse at 25-1.

Count Zero is the only named produce of the Volksraad mare My Duchess.

Zed is the sire of (inarguably) the best mile and a quarter/half horse in Australia Verry Elleegant as well as 11 other stakes winners.

I am kicking myself at the moment.......the big distance jump put me off.
The wonderful thing about the thoroughbred and stamina........the bloodlines speak.

Doriemus was a wonderful example of the Zammazan blood.

I'm Thunderstruck in the 3rd at Caulfield could be worth keeping an eye on.

Won a trial In NZ last July on a heavy11 .....looks like a very smart horse.

The son of Shocking is being backed like a good thing.

I'm Thunderstruck has his 2nd start in the Gr 2 Autumn Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday over 1400 m.
Opens the 2nd fav around $4.2. :what:....that is a bit short!

He looks to be a really good horse ......I'll wait until Saturday and hope you can get a bit better price about him.
It's a big ask to go from a 1st up maiden win to this grade and something only a very good horse can do.

Just a reminder.....always check your tickets before pressing "confirm" boys.

Wanted $8 win and $7 place on Brooklyn Hustle.......pressed the 5 and the 2 for the place bet  and then confirm :what:
Ended up with a $52 place bet on Brooklyn Hustle. :what:

Something beaten and seem to take an age before got confirmation she ran 4th

Good days racing in both Sydney and Melbourne all the same.

Well done to Flying Artie as the sire of the Blue Diamond winner......always thought that the year Extreme Choice and Flying Artie fought out the Blue Diamond was one of the best.
Just seems like yesterday!

I think we've all done that at some stage, rarely does it fall your way either

I remember a first four for a punters club that I placed, was out on a family picnic, had to drive to the top of a hill to get reception, placed the bet (pretty sure Takeover Target was in it so it was a while ago) listened to it salute, chuffed with the $1000 + collect.

Later couldn't understand why the account hadn't updated  fat finger me had selected the wrong number in the app  :shy:

Haven't seen anyone do the ratings in Victoria on here since Stormy left the building, Wily.

Critical at Sandown on a good track that you watch a couple to see if swoopers can get home.
Rail out 12 metres means a fairly narrow racing strip.

Who have you spotted?....I can keep a secret

Soooooooo.....

Music of the night is ranked last by Skyform ratings..... may be important to know how they rate.....

Racing and Sports rank it on top......

How is this possible?

Who is right.

After 52 days since a run just which part of the horses historical form should you rely on..... does this explain the difference betwen Sky and R&S?

Will the horse lead  today or come from behind?

Does the barrier matter and why?

The trainer had entered the horse for two races but chose the one with more $$$ on offer.... is this a clue?

Am I crazy or is the trainer?

More fodder for you... on the roughy

The trainer has put on a 2kg claiming app - does this mean the horse is likely to lead....?

What happened last time the roughy raced in a 64 grade race with 2kgs more weight than todays ask?

Are you asking as many questions about every horse as I have proffered here?

If not why not?

Have you got a chance against those punters that ask as many questions and more given the gloss over quicker approach you may do?

Fours

ps - leaders not advantaged much at all today after the first race result..... if jockeys adapt to that maybe by the last race they will be... but then again how smart are they...

You are carrying on like a child, fours.
If the form work you've done tells you that that Music Of The Night has the capability to run the 1300 m around the 1minute 17 secs odd, which will be required, then good luck to you!
Hope she wins or runs well for you.  emthup

You might be hard of hearing because I told you where I bet......I'm not familiar with some of those codes you are putting up.....and I couldn't care enough to look!

I'll have a little e/w on Confidant and French Bishop.
I'm hoping the Mathrick horse has pulled up well after his concrete track experience last week at Swan Hill.

2 races down and the track appears to be more than fair to all runners
