Can't see a thread to cover what's happening south of the Murray.

Advice from locals will be appreciated.

Pretty mild still and no rain so far. Clear skies actually. Some rain forecast tomorrow, but doesn't look like we are going to get much today. Dead track at worse is my guess.

Supposed to be solid rain from dawn till around 2pm, but Flemington is a pretty good drain.

As always, will appreciate an update from locals from time-to-time.

I think I heard a track curator saying something to the effect that the CP was between a Good 3 and a Dead 4.  :unsu

It's been threatening to  :crap: down all week but as of yet nothing significant, still if its dead currently I would expect it to worse come race day.

10 minutes of rain this morning gave way to a barmy 27 degree day with a light breeze.

If they haven't watered it will be approaching a Good 2.

Seems to be a lot of talk about rain coming and a wet track for Tuesday, the forecast doesn't really reflect this, thoughts of those down there.

Is there any 'official' way that track watering is announced by Flemington officials?
Is it up to a journo to ask someone?
How does one find out? they would want to be watering this arvo and into tonight wouldn't they?

If you go to the RISA website.
Click on Racefields and Trials
Click on the Meeting you want.
Click on Scratchings.
You will get a range of info at the top including latest track condition, rainfall and irrigation details updated twice daily.

Yes that is a bit of a concern.
I haven't seen that before, although I don't monitor it enough to be able to say it hasn't happened before.
Maybe they think they will avoid controvesy over the issue by keeping stumm about what they are doing in this regard??????

TBA because it will be based on how much they get from the light rain that should hit Melbourne in the next hour or so.
