It wasn't part of the track - I believe it was actually a public street.  And to be honest, it kind of dismisses protests of the jumps are too high.

It does doesn't it when it was 3 metres  :chin:

Apparently they increased the height of the fence some time ago
so that horses would not go there.

Rankin should break through today, with Onemanwolfpack and Maldives filling the placings

The Silver Bowl Series is always terrific racing and generally produces a few nice horses. It starts off at Echuca today and has attracted a nice field. I expect that the #6, Limerock, will start favourite being trained by Peter Moody and being already a city winner.
I think that #12, Legion's Belle, looks a strong chance. First up from a strong first prep and a very good maiden win at Ballarat, she ran into a very tough field behind La Praline at Caulfield and the form out of that race is great. She found the line OK in that race and will be suited from a nice gate over the same distance today.

You might have a juicy worm on your hands here mate, form out of it;s last few starts is deceptively good. Back into a -62 here suits.

I thought it was going to pull up - cannot believe it ran 3rd.

I don't watch races on the synthetic that much. Was the rails "off" or was that just the horse not wanting to stretch out?  :/

I'm the wrong person to ask about a horses action, but to me look either buggered, uncomfortable or that part was off they were fanning a bit but it's not like it was hugging the rail.

Great to see Bendigo have won the right to stage a stand alone Saturday meeting in March or the next 3 years.

The horse that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Legion's Belle, is running today at Mildura: Race 6 # 8. She looks well suited again in a nice $25K 3yo and should sit just off the pace and find the line OK.

First 2 races looked a little sus to me, probably nothing, first the hot hot fav goes down after looking to have the leader covered at the 200m was "green" so not fully ridden out.
Second the warm fav went against it normal race pattern to settle third last and was no chnace of catching the leader, both winner were well backed.
