Replay of the aforementioned Roman Eye - if you want to see a moral beaten, goes around in "Souths" colours in the last - no wonder it got beat

(didn't know you could get SA replays on line).

I had a stack on it PP, I brought it up in the 'worst ride of the day thread' with mixed responses. We are always biased when we have money riding on them but I can't recall a bigger 'certainty' going down.

Like the looks of the card at Morphettville tomorrow, obviously BC is there but the day overall looks great. Like the fact that three out of the first four races are over more than 2000m, wont mean much if i cant crack them for a divvie though....

R2: like Placement here, seems the class runner and the $3.30 on Tatts looks OK. 8,2,7 for the multis. 3/8,2,7.

R3: keen on Finiguerra on this firmer surface. 2.

R4: Crimson Lady shapes as the one here but Quick Retort seems like she is looking for a trip like this, quinella maybe the go, boxing up with the 2 and 12 in other multiples. 5,7/2,12

R5: looking forward to seeing Lucky Penny go around here, i think she might be one right out of the box. Toughest test to date and the $2.50 looks a little short for her first go at the mile against better class but I'm hoping she is up to Melbourne spring class so will be taking it. Kasumi the danger with a nibble on Dakadan Princess at any old odds. 2/5,15.

R6: too many ? to bet here...I'm a fan of Linton but with no public trial i can't get too enthusiastic, although 'bar plates off first time'. Seville may be much better than this class but is sure to be improved over further. Zabisco is well in. Verco Road is in great form and the $4.60 the place looks pretty fair value. If a move comes for the 1 or 7 i may follow otherwise will back the 4 to place. 4,place.

Love to hear others thoughts for what looks a better betting card than Brisbane.

Only just noticed she is resuming, some good ones in the race and untried on the ground, but hopefully she goes well.

Some interesting going's on around Adel metro meetings I hear.

Stewards and Fed Police said to have been investigating a number of "suspicious" races of late where there have been quite a number of races over a period of time involving questionable major market firmers (long shots), each sizeable moves (like $31 into $4). Seems to have been an amazing coincidence of a) these individual runners firming right across the ring, all at the same time, yet b) on inspection most betting sheets have revealed not a bet taken..... And strangely enough not one of these firmers have every looked like winning. Such the concerns of stewards that one of these notable long shot firmers was recently scratched at the barriers.

As they say in the classics, watch this space...

Can't find an SA Derby thread but how bad was the run of Order Of The Sun in the Derby?

Last week wins the VRC St Leger by 7 lengths. 7 days later was the first horse beaten on the home turn.

Was backed off the map late as well.

Backed up too soon? The quality of the St Leger was that miserable??

Only mention by the stewards was this:

ORDER OF THE SUN, which performed below expectations, was examined by the Clubís
Veterinary Surgeon who reported no visible abnormalities.

Of the winner:

KUSHADASI (S. Arnold) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.

Had a horse blackbooked running around in the first at Murray Bridge today. Liked Midsomer Barnaby's second career start and noted him down as a future maiden winner.

But he has come up against McEvoy's Wolf Creek. There was one scratching, a roughie, and the official flucs with 35 mins to go are $1.90 into $1.38  :o

Had a good go at it with a bonus bet I had from William Hill.

$13.20 mid tote.  :clap2:

Now all I have to do is re-invest that at $1.50 or better, don't I??  :chin:
